we are loading data via Processchain form our ECC6.0-Sourcesystem to SAP BW.
The Soursystem contains three applicationservers.
Applicationserver2 is because of the number of batch-processes the favorite for the dataload.
Now my question...
how can i achieve that the dataload from BW always starts the extractionjobs on applicationserver2?
Any ideas are welcome...

My report is based on Procurement GR data. The requirement is based on currency conversions in selection screen
There are 2 columns in report which are planned exchange rate and applied exchange rate.
Logic:
“Applied exchange rate” should be exchange rate between document currency to selected target currency based on Posting date of the GR issue date from M type exchange
“Planned exchange rate” should be based on year (YYYY) from posting date of the GR issue 31.12.YYYY, should be exchange rate between document currency to selected target currency and M type exchange
Can you please update me how it can be done?

In our current system, we see 2LIS_02_SCL extractor is taking long time to extract records in daily delta and we intent to optimize the run time of the extractor. At present for processing ~ 6500 records it is taking good amount of 42 mints. Ofcourse in CMOD we have many custom logic added which is possibly the reason for slowness.
We have planned to replace certain codes and try to optimize the logic :
1) All select single within loop will be replaced by internal table and read table logic- any idea how much this will optimize the run time ?
2) Can field symbol be useful here. If we use it will that create any data load problems and what is the run time optimization we can get?
Any other suggestion are welcome.

I have a infocube, get roll up in process chain by process type 'roll up filled aggregates/BWA indexes'. I can check out its running every day. but when I manage this infocube, all the loaded request do not have any roll up. in process type , I set 'Roll up only those requests that were loaded xxx days ago' = 0. could you please tell me what is wrong this this roll up operation?

Hi Gurus,
we are facing some issues with our process chain.
We ran recently one of our process chaing in foregraound and background ant it finishes with returning everything green.
But there is some mini problem that when you take a look at the log it gives you an red icon (like an error).
Has any body any idea

Hi all:
A cube contains already years of data. A new rule is implemented to put a value in an already existing Characteristic.
The issue is that only the new delta records will get that Char. populated, the old ones will remain emtpy.
I cannot imagine that SAP didn't think about this scenario. Any suggestion to populate the old records.?
(PD: "Please don't suggest: "delete the cube and reload". If that was to be a valid business option, I would not ask here)

I have this new error during an ODS Activation :
Database error text........: "ORA-12801: error signaled in parallel que
server P013#ORA-08103: object no longer exists"
Internal call code.........: "[RSQL/FTCH//BIC/AOD_LOG0340 ]"
Please check the entries in the system log (Transaction SM21).
The flow has been up and running for a long time now and suddently this error occurs. Has anyone encountered this before ?

Requirement may come up to add new fields to LO cockpit extractor which is up & running in production environment. This means the extractor is delivering daily deltas from SAP R/3 to BW system .
Since this change is to be done in R/3 Production system, there is always a risk that daily deltas of LO cockpit extractor would get disturbed. If the delta mechanism is disturbed (delta queue is broken) then there no another way than doing re-initialization for that extractor. However this reinit is not easy in terms of time & resource. Moreover no organization would be willing to provide that much downtime for live reporting based on that extractor.
As all of us know that initialization of LO Extractor is critical, resource intensive & time consuming task. Prerequisites to perform fill setup tables are - we need to lock the users from transactional updates in R/3 system, Stop all batch jobs that update the base tables of the extractor. Then we need to schedule the setup jobs with suitable date ranges/document number ranges.
Step by Step Procedure:-
1.Carry out changes in LO Cockpit extractor in SAP R/3 Dev system.
As per the requirement add new fields to Extractor.
These new fields might be present in standard supporting structures that you get when you execute "Maintain Data source" for extractor in LBWE. If all required fields are present in supporting structure mentioned above then just add these fields using arrow buttons provided and there is no need to write user exit code to populate these new fields.
However if these fields (or some of the required fields) are not present in supporting structures then you have to go for append structure and user exit code. The coding in user exit is required to populate the newly added fields. You have to write ABAP code in User exit under CMOD & in Include ZXRSAU01.
All above changes will ask you for transport request. Assign appropriate development class/Package and assign all these objects into a transport request.
2.Carry out changes in BW Dev system for objects related to this change.
Carry out all necessary changes in BW Dev system for objects related to this change (Info source, transfer rules, ODS, Info cubes, Queries & workbooks). Assign appropriate development class/Package and assign all these objects into a transport request
3.Test the changes in QA system.
Test the new changes in SAP R/3 and BW QA systems. Make necessary changes (if needed) and include them in follow-up transports.
4.Stop V3 batch jobs for this extractor.
V3 batch jobs for this extractor are scheduled to run periodically (hourly/daily etc) Ask R/3 System Administrator to put on hold/cancel this job schedule.
5.Lock out users, batch jobs on R/3 side & stop Process chain schedule on BW.
In order to avoid the changes in database tables for this extractor and hence possible risk of loss of data, ask R/3 System Administrator to lock out the users. Also batch job schedule need to be put on hold /cancel.
Ask System Administrator to clear pending queues for this extractor (if any) in SMQ1/SMQ2. Also pending /error out v3 updates in SM58 should be processed.
On BW production system the process chain related to delta Info package for this extractor should be stopped or put on hold.
6.Drain the delta queue to Zero for this extractor.
Execute the delta Info package from BW and load the data into ODS & Info cubes. Keep executing delta Info package till you get 0 records with green light for the request on BW side. Also you should get 0 LUW entries in RSA7 for this extractor on R/3 side.
7.Import R/3 transports into R/3 Production system.
In this step we import R/3 transport request related to this extractor. This will include user exit code also. Please ensure that there is no syntax error in include ZXRSAU01 and it is active. Also ensure that objects such as append structure is active after transport.
8.Replicate the data source in BW system.
On BW production system, replicate the extractor (data source).
9.Import BW transport into BW Production system.
In this step we import BW transport related to this change into BW Production system.
10.Run program to activate transfer rules
Execute program RS_TRANSTRU_ACTIVATE_ALL. Enter the Info source and source system name and execute. This will make sure that transfer rules for this Info source are active
11.Execute V3 job Manually in R/3 side
Go to LBWE and click on Job Control for Application area related to this extractor . Execute the job immediately and it should finish with no errors.
12.Execute delta Info package from BW system
Run delta Info package from BW system. Since there is no data update, this extraction request should be green with zero records (successful delta extraction)
13.Restore the schedule on R/3 & BW systems
Ask System Administrator to resume V3 update job schedule, batch job schedule and unlock the users. On BW side, restore the process chains schedule.
From next day onwards (or as per frequency), you should be able to receive the delta for this extractor with data also populated for new fields.

Few days back I had searched SDN for the same issue(mentined below) and found many solutions related to it but none of the solutions which i found could help me in resolving the issue.

The PC failed due to update from PSA issue.
When checked for error message
Details Tab : - last delta upload not yet completed. Cancel
In The monitor screen I can find that the load being in yellow status for more than expected time and ended with short dump the extracted records are (for ex: 0 from 52 records)
In the source system I can find that the job is also finished.
Checks done:-
SQL error 14400 when accessing table /BIC/B00000XX000
When checked in ST22 I can find the below error
Tried doing :-
Deleted the PSA table data and tried loading again but the PC failed showing the same error but when changed the info package settings from only PSA to data targets the load was success So it shows that there is some issue with PSA table as mentioned in the short dump.
Exact Solution:- As the error was saying that “Inserted partition key does not map to any partition “in the short dump as a trail and error mathod tried activating the transfer structure using the program RS_TRANSTRU_ACTIVATE_ALL which workedand the loads was fine as normal.

I am going to be put in a HCM project in a few days. Hence, got a doubt.
I found mostly that the HCM datasources are not delta enabled. So, how to overcome this. Can we create a write optimized DSO in the BW side and extract data to it and then move to a standard DSO or Cube. Or is there any other way.

Hi All,
We are loading 0PUR_O01 ODS with 5 datasources namely in below order. ODS keys are Purchase order number and item.
1. 2LIS_02_ITM
2. 2LIS_02_CGR
3. 2LIS_02_SGR
4. 2LIS_02_SCL
5. 2LIS_02_SCN
The problem is with datasource 2LIS_02_SCN, it is generating records with reversal indicator =R and it deletes the existing PO item in ODS.
Note: PO item is not deleted in R/3 and still it sends delta records with reversal indicator "R"
I checked with functional team and they said for some item inbound deliveries were created and for some nothing was changed but still we are getting delta in BW with reverse mode.
Please help me if any one have encountered this kind of issue before. Thanks in Advance.

We installed Web templates (Format SAP BW 3.x)) from Business content & we want migrate them into 7.X.
When we migrate web templates from Web Application Designer --> Tools--> Migration tool, we faced the below error.
"Template include item TEMPLATE_INCLUDE_ITEM_1 unresolved or empty. Close and reopen template."
We tried by closing and reopen. But the template is not avilbale in 7. x format.
I tried to follow note 832712 & trying to undestand the template.
In the note SAP mentioned we need to migrate Items, Libraries, Roles forst before migrating web templates.
I found roles associated with Web templates when we collect them from Business content. Where can we get Items & Libraries to migrate them which are assoicated with web template.

I am using SAP BW 7.3 and SP Level 3. It is my first time I am dealing with hierarchy.
I am trying to loading master data into Hierarchy ( G/L account number 0GL_ACCOUNT_T011_HIER) and on InfoPackage screen ''Hierarchy Selection'' I have got few options as you seen in the screen shot.
1)Could you please let me know what is the purpose about ''Hierarchy Section'' there?
2)Which option I need to choose?
3)Do I need to create DTP to load data into target when dealing with hierarchy?
4) Is there any thing I need to look after/care to load data using hierarchy because I am also going to deal with
Finical Statement Item 0GLACCEXT_T011_HIER & Account Hierarchy. Is there any piece of doc for it if so, then please share with me.

Hello,
I am loading material stock in the BI content cube 0IC_C03.
I first use datasource 2LIS_03_BX and I followed the steps described in the How to guide 'How To…Handle Inventory Management Scenarios in BW'
In MCNB, I used a selection from 01.10.2013 till 31.10.2013.
I was hoping to see that the various entries with dated in October. Instead, all is dated on 19.12.2013 date of the load.
I tried to compress with and without the 'No Marker' tick, same result.
My requirement is to be able to display and compare Monthly stock values but if the dates in the cube are the loading dates, this is not possible.
Am I missing someting?

1) I have used the standard BI content 3.5 flow (as a proof of concept) and according to the update rule, dates are coming form the document booking date
2) The values laoded are correct, just the date is wrong

Process chain got failed at DTP while loading data from 0IC_C03 -> ZC_C01 with error message Dump: Internal session terminated with a runtime error DBIF_RSQL_SQL_ERROR (see ST22) ( Overlapping check with archived data areas for InfoProvider ZC_C01 ).
Tried doing below techniques, but no use.
1.Deleting index, deleted red req, repeating
2. changing the process number to 1,2..5.
3.Not Space issue, DB024.
4. Not dead lock issue.
Please advise other ways to resolve this issue.

In Data Services Job, i am trying to pull data from a view to a table. The view is pointing to the table which is in other database.
The problem is when i import the source view into data services and view the data, i found one row having wrong data. The values in that row are wrong/corrupted while the same row in the source table is having correct values
I queried the view from TOAD for that record. The values are valid.
The data is coming wrong only in Data services. Any row in that table gets corrupted, there is no specific row.
Hence while running the jobs i am getting errors.
Any idea what can be the reason of getting corrupted data in view while same view when queried from TOAD gives correct values?
